Where to Gather in Mebane

I’ve lived in Mebane for almost 15 years. One of the draws was the small downtown that was full of shops I kept finding myself at, to be honest it started with Grit and Grace, and the coffee at Filament, and visiting Solgarden for the perfect Christmas gifts. The Christmas Parade is legendary-seriously, and I would argue the 4th of July fireworks are better than some of the other much larger local towns. Plus I am usually home in 10 minutes. There’s an annual event called the Dogwood Festival, that has hundreds of local vendors, and well it’s home. Mebane is full of local business owners who care, and continue to invest in the community. There are quite a few new places that opened this year and a few Mebane business owners are adding on second and third businesses.

Recently, as a Mebane based Wedding and Event Planner, I’ve found myself at Ember, a brand new co-working and event space that has so many perks. Parking. Wi-fi, and printing. Coffee by day, beer + wine by night, and they host community events. They have floor to ceiling windows, av, tables and seating for 180, and multiple smaller private rooms for breakouts, vip, or changing rooms. Plus a huge kitchen space perfect for a cocktail hour, buffet or stationed appetizers.

The Mebane Business Association, which I recently joined meets at another large space that is located walking distance to downtown. 5th and Washington events, is perfect for showers, graduations, birthday and anniversaries and meetings. They have a large empty space that can be set with tables and chairs, a breakout space, kitchen, and ample parking. They also offer coffee services as an add-on and have a list of local caters. Keep in mind, they do not allow alcohol on the premises.

A few other noteworthy event spaces include The White house on Washington, which is a beautiful Southern Estate with multiple outdoor spaces (lawn, patio, pergola, and pavilion), rooms for getting ready, dining spaces, and they host high tea, they are perfect for bridal showers, rehearsal dinners, weddings, birthdays, and more elegant corporate functions. Southern Acorn Barn is a little further out from downtown, off of 119.

Bright Penny is a great casual spot with fantastic beer, and many other great options, that has multiple outdoor spots great for smaller groups. It is first come first serve, regarding the seating, and they won’t reserve the beer garden area, but they do allow for buyouts. Did I mention the pizza and beer? So good. Oh and the deviled eggs-get them. If you need someone to come to you, Fat Man and His food is always a go to of mine, and Southern Harvest, a newer Mebane business is a full service caterer, who has been in the industry for awhile, and are the perfect answer if you need bar services and service staff as well.

There is so much more in Mebane, and the surrounding areas, if you need help figuring out where to celebrate, how to decorate, need a local photographer, we suggest reaching out to Elizabeth Larson Photography. For a florist or DJ and more amazing local vendors you can count on, reach out to Jess & Co. We would love to help you create a memorable event experience!
